little jack in the country - mohonk

jack, john and i went to mohonk this weekend. it was really fun - highlights for us including swimming with jack in the pool (he did not like the cold water though), going on hikes around the lake with jack in the baby bjorn, having group dinners, and playing paddle tennis.

picture of jack and sadie playing in jack's jumpers. jack doesn't really like the jumper that sadie is in, but when he saw sadie in his jumper, all of a sudden that became his favorite jumper.

these pictures show jack's new sense of determination. tonight, i got home late, and he wanted to play (of course, he was not interested in sleeping) so jack decided to get the toys himself! when he couldn't get the exact toy he wanted, he pulled himself across the room to play with the toy next to me.

mohonk

this weekend, john, jack and i will be going to mohonk mountain with 20+ other people. tripadvisor.com describes it as "traditional landmark resort with victorian decor, set atop the shawangunk mtns; amidst 2200 acre preserve surrounding lake mohonk". most of the comments say it is a great family resort with lousy food. the pictures make it look spectacular, and we are excited about the upcoming weekend.

jack has started eating cheerios. he loves them, but has a hard time picking them up in his fingers and getting them in his mouth - as a result, more of them end up on the floor than in his mouth....

as sadie's mom said, "things between jack and sadie are heating up - i might have to have the mother / daughter talk with sadie soon"....

jack was definitely a little more shy around sadie than she was around him.

jack tests out the new rug

jack is still not exactly crawling - he pulls his stomach along the ground with his arms. he is just starting to understand that somehow his legs are supposed to be involved in this action of moving across the floor, but hasn't quite gotten it all together.

holly's visit

holly, bryn and theo visited us earlier this month. here are two pictures of holly feeding jack (of course, i put her to work....)

while john and i tried to decide on furniture lay-out and hang paintings & tvs, jack posed for some pictures. john called the first picture jack's dr. evil look. i think he looks adorable and not at all evil.
